Clemens Wickler is a beach volleyball runner-up and three-time Beach Volleyball Player of the Year. The passion for balls, especially volleyball, was born very early in the living room at home in Munich: Both parents former volleyball players, a string and a balloon formed the basis for the later world career.

After some detours to athletics and soccer, the final decision for volleyball came at 13. Possibly the priorities at that age contributed to the fact that the beach volleyball flair around summer, sun, beach and sea seemed more attractive than indoor volleyball.

Clemens now lives and trains in the German beach volleyball capital of Hamburg.

He is a sports soldier by profession and also studies business administration at the Distance Learning University of Hagen.
